Deutscher Psoriasis Bund e.V.

The German Psoriasis Federation e.V. (DPB) is a country-wide active non-profit association of and for people with psoriasis and psoriasis arthritis. Founded in Hamburg in 1973 its main tasks include informing about all aspects of this very complex disease, facilitating exchange among people affected by the disease, promoting research, and advocating for an improvement in medical care at all levels.

Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are chronic inflammatory diseases of the skin and joints. Yet inflammatory processes can also affect other organs and tissues. This can lead to internal diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, immune disorders, diabetes and obesity, as well as depression. Physicians therefore refer to psoriasis as a systemic disease, where systemic means: affecting the whole organism.
